Carson, you need to do some basic searching in your nearest city library. In the Genealogy and Heraldry sections you will find books with info of the Scottish Ralstons from whom the Ralstons of Donegal descended. If your family were from the north of Donegal, around the Raphoe area, they were certainly Scots-Irish. Roulston is a common variant of their name.
Fairbairn's Book of Crests depicts the Ralston crest, which is a falcon looking to the sinister, ie facing to the right.
The Surnames of Scotland gives a basis description of the Ralstons and their origins.
Nisbett's A System of Heraldry describes the Ralston arms, crest and motto:
Arms: Argent, on a bend azure, three acorns in the seed Or.
Crest: A falcon proper.
Motto: Fide et Marte
There are several other books with various info on Ralston history at Renfrew near Glasgow and their branches at Woodside, Beith, Auchantorlie, etc. Check also Burke's Colonial Gentry as a starting point.
Ken.
