I'm researching Rollestons from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and have already hooked up with some distant relations, but am keen to see if there are any more out there. I have been told that the family came over to Ulster from England in the 1600s and that they owned land, including some in the Belfast area.

My great-grandmother was born Margaret Jane Rolleston on 29 Dec 1875 (died on 17 Apr 1918). She married William Harbinson on 10 Feb 1894 at Cliftonville Presbyterian Church, Belfast. They had 3 daughters, two of whom died young - the other was my grandmother.

Margaret Jane's parents were Benjamin Rolleston and Sarah Ann Rolleston (nee Halliday). They married on 10 Feb 1875 at Crumlin Rd Presbyterian Church Belfast. The marriage certificate state that Benjamin's father's name was Robert Rolleston (occupation, painter) and that Benjamin was a Coal Carter. I would guess that Benjamin was probably born around 1850 and Robert around 1825.

I believe that Benny and Sarah Ann Rolleston had several other children, including James, Mary, Maude, Harry and Billy.

If that means anything to anyone out there, I would love to have more information.

Thanks.
